Quang Ninh: seized 4,8 tons of smuggled Chinese mandarin oranges

VCN – 4.8 tons of Chinese smuggled mandarin oranges have been seized by Customs Control Team 2.

As a result of information from the Customs Control Team 2, from the 10th to 11th, a mobile control group under Customs Control Team 2 collaborated with a mobile police battalion (PK 20 Unit), Quang Ninh police accessed and inspected a truck with license plate No. 34C-060.43 which was suspected to transport smuggled goods.

Through inspections, the force detected 160 cartons containing 4,8 tons of fresh mandarin oranges (some were damaged, and smelt rotten)

Driver, Mr. Nguyen Phu Nam confessed that he bought the above mandarin oranges with a price of 6,000 VND per kg from an unknown woman in the area at Km18, on national road 18A (the section under Quang Nghia commune, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh) for transporting them to Hai Phong for sale to get profit.

All goods have no invoices and documents due to illegal import from China.

The case is in the process of settlement in accordance with regulations.
