VCN – Mong Cai City People’s Committee has just piloted customs clearance for passengers using passports and entry and exit permits across Mong Cai International Border Gate in Bac Luan II Bridge on Saturday and Sunday.

Based on the agreement between the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and the letter sent by the Department of Trade and Border Gate Management of Dongxing City (China), from December 11, 2023, passengers using passports and entry and exit permits have been allowed to implement customs clearance across Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan Bridge II area). The Customs clearance time is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Hanoi time (from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Beijing time).

On March 19, 2024, at the meeting “Reviewing the results of immigration activities across Mong Cai International Border Gate in Bac Luan II Bridge area from November 2023 to present” chaired by the People's Committee of Mong Cai City, the pilot customs clearance for passengers using passports and entry and exit permits across Bac Luan Bridge II on Saturday and Sunday was approved. The import and export activities still implemented on the remaining of the week at Mong Cai International Border Gate, Bac Luan I Bridge and Bac Luan II Bridge. The pilot period is from March 20, 2024 to the end of April 2024.

To ensure customs clearance conditions for passengers moving across Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan Bridge II area), Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch - Quang Ninh Customs Department has coordinated with other enforcement agencies to effectively implement channelization, arrange forces and equipment, ensured security and order, and created the most favorable conditions for citizens of the two countries during carrying out customs procedures across Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan II bridge area).

According to Mr. Hoang Van Luyen, representative of TOT International Travel Co., Ltd., passengers are extremely excited to experience the electric car travel service across Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan II Bridge area), the enforcement authorities have facilitated the company, as well as passengers, to quickly carry out customs procedures”.

After China eased its policies after a long time of implementing “Zero Covid”, the number of visitors entering and exiting across Mong Cai - Dong Hung Border Gate pair surges. Therefore, the promotion of customs clearance capacity across Mong Cai International Border Gate will contribute to fostering tourism activities between Vietnam and China.

On the morning of March 23, the first day of the pilot, more than 400 passengers completed exit procedures across Bac Luan II Border Gate.
