According to Lang Son Customs Department, since the beginning of May, the department has instructed border gate customs branches to classify the “flour mill machinery” item. However, through checking the implementation results of the branch, there are still many shortcomings in the classification for the item.
To control more strictly and avoid errors, Lang Son Customs Department requires border gate customs branches to follow the instructions of the General Department of Vietnam Customs in Official Dispatch No. 1996/TCHQ-TXNK dated April 26, 2023. Accordingly, the branches are requested to review the classification of codes and tax rates for “flour mill machinery” imported across the area. If detecting inappropriate classification, the branches must re-determine the code, tax rate, and take professional measures to fully collect taxes, and sanction administrative violations (if any).
For taxpayers that have not worked and have not paid taxes, the department directs the customs branches to continue to completely handle and collect taxes, and coordinate with other enforcement agencies to prevent cases where businesses carry out dissolution procedures, close tax codes, stop operations, or temporarily suspend operations without fulfilling tax payment obligations.
