On April 22, Lao Cai International Customs Branch informed that as of April 15, the total trade in goods at the branch increased by 64% to US$ 382.4 million year-on-year.
Notably, the export turnover rose 88% to US$ 223.23 million compared with the same period in the previous year.
The import turnover went up 44% to US$ 159.2 million.
Deputy Manager of Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Branch, Nguyen Thanh Binh said that import-export activities across the area have seen improvement, especially the exports.
“The increase in export turnover results from the stability of high-value agricultural products such as durian, dragon fruit and other major products,” Binh said.
