Kim Thanh Border Gate Customs Branch (Lao Cai Customs Department) clears goods 24/7
As of the end of March 2, the trade in goods at Lao Cai Customs Department increased 39.3% to US$239.3 million year-on-year. Of which, the export turnover grew 35.7% to US$ 148.5 million, and the import turnover rose 45.7% to 90.7 million.
One day in the middle of March, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien (import-export staff, HNJ Company Limited, address in Lao Cai City) carried out customs procedures for the Company's agricultural products.
“Our company specializes in exporting agricultural products, mainly dragon fruit and durian. The company exports about seven trucks of cargo on average per day, including two durian trucks and five dragon fruit trucks. Although the quantity of exported goods is not equal to before the Covid-19 pandemic, compared to the same period last year. Especially, the Company's goods transactions with Chinese partners have taken stably, even in holidays and Tet, such as the Giap Thin 2024 Lunar New Year, the Company even exported more than 20 trucks of agricultural products”, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien excitedly said.
Not only HNJ Co., Ltd. but also many other companies carrying procedures at Lao Cai Customs Department expect that import and export activities across the area in 2024 will achieve many impressive results.
Regarding the implementation of customs procedures, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien said that the customs declaration is carried out via the VNACCS System. Most exported agricultural products are classified into the Green channel system, so customs clearance is processed quickly.
Although the company implements customs procedures for many trucks carrying exported goods, it only takes only short time in the morning to clear goods. The Customs and enforcement agencies at Kim Thanh International Border Gate No. II have worked seven days/week, so the customs clearance of goods on days off and holidays has taken place smoothly and the company does not need to register in advance to implement customs procedures outside working hours.
According to Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Branch (Lao Cai Customs Department), in the first two months of the year, the branch processed customs procedures for goods with total trade in goods of about US$ 170 million, up 20% year-on-year.
Notably, the export turnover increased by 73% to US$ 90.3 million. The exported goods mainly were all kinds of peeled wood, dragon fruit, durian and charcoal. The export turnover surged due to the increase in exported agricultural products such as durian, dragon fruit, watermelon, cassava...
Deputy Manager of Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Branch Nguyen Thanh Binh said that the branch’s leader regularly directs officers to quickly process procedures for enterprises and facilitate enterprises in importing and exporting goods across the border gate.
Notably, import and export activities Kim Thanh International Border Gate No. II have taken place in holidays. Therefore, the branch has developed plans and arranged officers to process procedures at the border gate, especially the branch has promoted IT application in management and customs clearance to facilitate import and export activities, ensuring smooth operation and customs control.
Cao Bang Customs Department expects positive results from export turnover at Tra Linh International Border Gate
Cao Bang Customs Department manages export goods are mainly dried agricultural products (cashew nuts, coffee, pepper...) and frozen seafood. As noted by the reporter, export activities of the products in the first two months of the year showed many optimistic signs.
Ms. Luc Thi To Uyen, Director of Bang Thanh Trading Co., Ltd. (Cao Bang City) said that the company carries out procedures for about 4 vehicles carrying exported goods per day across Tra Linh Border Gate Customs Branch, including: cashew nuts and frozen shrimp and fish.
“The volume of goods exported across the border gate in the beginning of the year is insignificant compare with the same period in 2023. Hopefully, when Tra Linh Border Gate is upgraded into international border gate, the exports will improve at the peak period from the mid to year-end” Uyen said.
According to Cao Bang Customs Department, from the beginning of the year until now, import and export activities under the department’s management have mainly taken place at Ta Lung, Tra Linh, Soc Giang border gates (Cao Bang) and Bac Kan Customs Branch.
Until the end of February, about 132 enterprises carried out customs procedures at Cao Bang Customs Department, increasing by 34 enterprises compared with the previous year. Notably, the import and export turnover surged compared with the previous year.
In the first two months of the year, total trade in goods grew 145% year-on-year, including US$ 68 million of export turnover, up 346% and US$ 27 million of import turnover, up 12%. Exported products mainly are seafood, vegetables, cashew nuts, coffee, pepper.... While imported goods are fruits and vegetables; ores and other minerals; coal of all kinds; other machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; fabrics…
Deputy Manager of Tra Linh Border Gate Customs Branch, Le Thanh Nam said that the Branch always maintains the implementation of professional measures, conducts effective solutions, facilitates enterprises in importing and exporting, seeking for goods sources and promoting trade transactions and carrying out procedures across border gates to increase the state revenue, while promoting administrative procedure reform and customs modernization.
The branch has focused on customs reform and modernization, IT application in customs processes, and processed 100% dossier via online public service.
