Hai Phong Customs handled 86 cases of specialized inspection violation

According to Hai Phong Customs, there were 80 cases relating to quality control out of 86 cases of violation. Breaches were associated with wrong document lodgment.
4 cases took place in the field of food safety control. Violations related to deferred Customs document submission and storing, and preserving goods to be cleared at locations which were different from registration with Customs.
Notably, one case related to import permit regulations. The trader did not present import licenses as stipulated; and one case importing goods that did not meet import conditions.
Particularly in the third quarter, Hai Phong Customs processed around 80,000 declarations relating to specialized inspection (in terms of food safety, quarantine, quality control, and permits)
Of 79,024 import declarations under specialized inspection, making up 39.9% of the total number of import declarations, there were 15,058 declarations under quarantine; 10,152 declarations relating to permits and import conditions.
Exports, subjected to specialized inspection, were much fewer than other exports. In the third quarter of 2016, Hai Phong Customs handled 475 declarations, accounting for 0.03% of the total amount of export declarations in the whole department.
