All seven passenger cars (5-seat type) of all kinds, Hanteng brand, made in China, are 100% new, have the navigation application screen with image suspected as the map "nine-dash line". On October 31, during the Customs process, Dinh Vu port Customs Branch detected the shipment of imported cars displaying images of the "nine-dash line" on the navigation screen that violates the sovereignty of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

According to the initial inspection of the Customs office, the enterprise registering to carry out import procedures for the above shipment is Hoa Mai Automobile Co., Ltd. (address: National Highway 10, Quoc Tuan Commune, An Lao District, Hai Phong city).
The shipment had customs declaration opened on October 29, 2019, at Dinh Vu port Customs Branch
Currently, Dinh Vu Port Customs Branch has sent a document and photos to the Department of Survey, Mapping and Geographic information of Vietnam (under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) to request coordination, inspection and identification of signs of violations.

Accordingly, based on the opinions of the ministries, sectors, the Publication Law and the documents guiding the implementation of the Publication Law, the General Department of Customs has directed the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department to handle the Volkswagen Touareg CR745J car as follows:Regarding the case of cars containing the "nine-dash line” map, on November 4, the General Department of Customs informed on handling with violations related to a Volkswagen Touareg car which was temporarily imported to participate in an exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, the General Department of Customs has directed provincial and municipal Customs Departments to check the actual shipments of cars imported from China, in which focusing on inspecting GPS devices which are installed navigator application. If the device is detected containing contents and images violating national territorial sovereignty and distorting history, the Customs office will stop the customs clearance and handle violations in accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of Decree 159/2013 / ND-CP.
