Green channel declaration at Hai Phong Customs increases sharply by 14.3%

According to Hai Phong Customs Department, in January, the total declaration of the whole unit was 160,350, an increase of 33.1% over the same period in 2020. In particular, there were 87,015 import declarations and 73,335 export declarations.
Among nine affiliate customs branches, the of export processing zone (EPZ) and industrial park (IP) Customs Branch had the highest number of declarations with 38,311 and while Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch has the smallest number of declarations with 4,412 declarations.
In the month, at Hai Phong Customs Department, there were 65.5% of declarations in the green channel and 3.7% declarations of the red channel, with the rest Yellow channel declarations.
Compared to the previous month (December 2020), the proportion of green flow declarations increased sharply by 14.3 percentage points (from 51.2% to 65.5%), while the declarations of the yellow channel decreased sharply and the red channel was relatively stable.
However, among customs branches at the border gate (Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch, Hai Phong port area 2 Customs Branch, Hai Phong port area 3 Customs Branch, and the Dinh Vu port Customs Branch) the proportion of yellow and red channels is at a high level of 81%.
While the group of Customs branches outside the border gate (the Investment/Processing Customs Branch, the EPZ and IP Customs Branch, Hai Duong Customs Branch, Hung Yen Customs Branch, the Thai Binh Customs Branch) the rate for the green channel is up to 74.4%.
In January 2021, Hai Phong Customs Department collected VND 5,004 billion for State revenue, reaching 8.94% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance (VND 56,000 billion), hitting 8.64% of the target assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs (57,900 billion) and up 22.03% over the same period in 2020. The total import-export turnover increased by 39.4%, reaching nearly $7.75 billion.
