This achievement was announced by Director of Import-Export Duty Department at the preliminary conference on the deployment of e-Tax payment 24/7, held by the GDVC on 3nd July 2018 with participants from commercial banks and provincial and municipal Customs Departments.
At the conference, Deputy Director General of the GDVC, Nguyen Duong Thai stated that since 2014, the GDVC deployed the method of e-tax payment to support Import and Export enterprises so that they can implement conveniently and quickly.
However, in order to meet requirements on administrative reform, the Customs sector needs to upgrade the e-payment Portal to achieve the following goals: providing the maximum favorable conditions for tax payers to pay tax at anytime, anywhere, any means and minimizing the cash payments; ensuring that information on tax payment is timely and accurately liquidated; reducing tax payment time, at the same time, releasing goods right after paying taxes, thereby, reducing the time for completing the Customs procedures for import and export goods by enterprises to the average level of ASEAN-4 countries under the Government’s direction.
Therefore, the GDVC has deployed the Scheme ‘e-Tax payment via banks and Customs clearance 24/7’ from October 2017, to support enterprises to directly pay tax at e-Customs payment Portal. Accordingly, it permits taxpayers to directly pay tax at e-Customs payment Portal at anytime, anywhere, and any means with internet access, and the banks shall confirm the successful payment after receiving request for tax remittance and implement Customs clearance.
Compared with the current collection methods, especially the e-tax payment through banks, the method of e- tax payment and Customs clearance 24/7 is more preeminent, simple, convenient, and more accurate than other methods.
However, according to the Deputy Director General Nguyen Duong Thai, after 8 months of implementation of e-tax payment, the achieved result is still not significant compared to the total tax revenue of the Customs sector. The Deputy Director General emphasized that in the near future, the demand on tax payment at anywhere, anytime and any means was necessary and the essential trend.
Thus, through the conference, the GDVC evaluated shortcomings and deficiencies, thereby, continuously providing better solutions for e-tax payment method that have been implemented by the GDVC.

At the conference, the leaders of Import-Export Duty Department and Customs IT and Statistics Department listened and exchanged opinions of commercial banks participating in e-tax payment 24/7 as well as proposals of provincial and municipal Customs Departments in deploying this method. Of which, shortcomings and reasons were thoroughly analyzed by parties.
Also, the representatives of Import-Export Duty Department and Customs IT and Statistics Department said that, in the coming time the GDVC will continue to upgrade this new tax payment management system and will make more convenient changes so that the e-tax payment 24/7 system will be widely implemented and more effective.
