Customs strengthens human trafficking prevention

Following the direction of the Government's Steering Committee 138 in Official Letter No. 2053/BCD138/CP dated June 24, 2023 on strengthening the fight against human trafficking and implementing activities to respond to " World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, "All people's day Against Trafficking in Persons - July 30", the General Department of Customs requested units to continue to strictly and effectively implement the Party's guidelines, policies and State laws on the fight against crimes in general and human trafficking in particular;
Continue to disseminate the Law on the Prevention of and Combat against Human Trafficking and its guiding documents; the plan and guiding documents of the Steering Committee 138/CP on the fight against human trafficking.
Determine the prevention and combat of human trafficking is also a regular and long-term task of the Customs sector.
Promote dissemination and education of the law to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in the field of Customs, in association with the work of ensuring security and order, preventing and combating all kinds of crimes, including the crime of human trafficking.
Implement the peak of communication and the peak of attacks and suppression of human trafficking crimes, in accordance with the characteristics, situation, customs and habits of each locality and region.
It is necessary to focus on dissemination content to raise awareness for individuals, families and business communities about the methods and tricks of human trafficking crimes with action slogans such as: "Actively responding to the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, "All people's day Against Trafficking in Persons - July 30”, " Cooperation against trafficking in human beings", “the prevention of human trafficking is the responsibility of each individual and the entire society”.

Actively, closely and effectively coordinate with competent authorities such as the Police, Border Guards, Coast Guard, local authorities and organizations to effectively combat against trafficking in persons; participate in the peak of attacks and suppression of human trafficking crimes within the area of operation of Customs, focusing on border gate areas adjacent to China, Laos and Cambodia.
