On Agust 5, at the workshop to survey and evaluate the actual development of Customs-Business parnership and related parties (2014-2024) jointly held by the Customs Reform and Modenization Board (under the General Department of Vietnam Customs) and HCM City Customs Department, many businesses and business associations highly appreciated the effectiveness of the program, provided and shared initiatives to further develop the partnership between the two sides.

At the workshop, Deputy Director of the Customs Reform and Modernization Board Luong Khanh Thiet and Deputy Director of HCM City Customs Department Do Thanh Quang thanked the business comunity for the cooperation with the Customs to improve the partnership between the two parties.

After listening to the representative of the Customs Reform and Modernization Board providing an overview of solutions to develop Customs-Business partnership over the past 10 years, businesses and business associations shared their initiatives and experience in management, technical processes, and digital transformation applications in the current context.

Ms. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, Vice President of HCM City Logistics Association (HLA), said that she was honored to be selected by HCM City Customs Department to participate in the Customs-Business partnership development program. HLA has received great support from HCM City Customs Department.

Specifically, HCM City Customs Department has coordinated and supported HLA to organize four programs on guiding customs procedures with businesses, such as: goods management policies before and after customs clearance at ports; exchange information on policies related to HS codes; skills in determining commodity codes... In addition, problems related to policies and procedures sent by HLA’s members have been instructed promptly by the department.

“Motivated by positive results, we have singed cooperation agreement with the Customs, this is a very useful information support and guidance channel”- Ms. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan emphasized.

Representatives of industry associations, such as: Cashew Association, Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of HCM City Branch, Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association, representatives of import-export enterprises have recognized and highly appriciated the effective support from the Customs through developing Customs-Business partnership.

Mr. Le Minh Anh - General Secretary of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association said that although the association has not signed any memorandum of understanding with the Customs, businsesses of the association have been supported by the Customs. Notably, the problems related to the export of cinnamon essential oil has been instructed and handled quickly by the Customs.

Representatives of associations and businesses proposed the Customs about the focal point for receiving and guiding information; time for answering questions from the businesses; training on Customs procedures for businesses... to develop customs partnerships in line with the current reality.

The leaders of the Customs Reform and Modernization Board and HCM City Customs Department said that the comments of businesses are very useful and consistent with the reality, so the Customs will record and perfect contents to develop the Customs- Business partnership, meeting requirements of the business community.

Deputy Director of HCM City Customs Department Do Thanh Quang said that the department always considers business satisfaction as a criterion to assess work perfomance of customs officers, towards the goal of thinking together, working together, sharing together, and developing together.

Deputy Director Do Thanh Quang said that the department will coordinate with associations to organize more training courses for businesses on customs operation and business regime as requested by businesses.
