Working together to complete tasks well

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Department of Customs, Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Van Can; Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Department of Customs, Deputy Director General Nguyen Van Tho; Deputy Directors General: Hoang Viet Cuong, Luu Manh Tuong and Dinh Ngoc Thang.

At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Personnel and Organization (Ministry of Finance) Pham Duc Thang announced the decisions to appoint leaders of the General Department of Customs.

On July 29, 2024, Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc signed Decision 1818/QD-BTC appointing Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Van Tho to be Director General of the General Department of Customs from September 1, 2024.

On July 30, 2024, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi signed Decision 1819/QD-BTC appointing Director of Bac Ninh Customs Department Tran Duc Hung to be Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs from September 1, 2024 and Decision 1828/QD-BTC appointing Director of the Department of Customs Supervision and Management Au Anh Tuan to be Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs from September 1, 2024.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi presented the Decisions and flowers to congratulate the new Director General Nguyen Van Tho and the new Deputy Director General Au Anh Tuan, the new Deputy Director General Tran Duc Hung.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the new leaders of the General Department of Customs have received basic training, have many years of working and growing up in the Customs industry. They have capacity, qualifications and good performance in their tasks.

Regarding the implementation of tasks in the coming time, the requirements for the Customs industry are still very heavy and challenging, therefore, the Deputy Minister requests the new General Director Nguyen Van Tho and the new Deputy General Directors to continue to strive, make efforts, promote their capacity, experience, and unite with the General Department's leadership to lead the entire industry to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

"The leader of the Ministry of Finance believe that the leadership of the General Department of Customs will continue to promote the sense of responsibility, maintain and promote the tradition of solidarity and unity within the organization; make efforts, unite, and strive to successfully complete the political tasks assigned by the Party, the State, and the Ministry of Finance", Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi emphasized.

Speaking at the ceremony, the new Director General Nguyen Van Tho expressed his sincere thanks to the leaders of the Ministry of Finance and the leaders, civil servants, public employees and workers of the entire Customs industry.

The new Director General Nguyen Van Tho expressed that the new position is both an honor and a very heavy responsibility. To successfully complete the assigned tasks, the new Director General expressed his wish to continue to receive the attention, direction, and support of the leaders of the Ministry of Finance; and the coordination of the units under the Ministry of Finance.

The new Director General requests the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the leaders of the General Department of Customs and the leaders of the units together with all cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the entire Customs industry to always join hands and be unanimous in advising, proposing, and successfully realizing assigned tasks.

At the Ceremony, the new Director General Nguyen Van Tho shared the goals, tasks, and key solutions that the entire Customs will continue to strive to implement in the coming time.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, on behalf of the collective leadership, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the entire sector, expressed his gratitude for the great contributions of Director General Nguyen Van Can and Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong to the development of Vietnam Customs.

Two experienced leaders completed their tasks

At the Ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the retirement decisions for Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Van Can and Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong.

Specifically, on June 3, 2024, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi signed Decision 1246/QD-BTC on retirement to enjoy insurance benefits from September 1, 2024 for Director General of the General Department of Customs Nguyen Van Can.

On the same day, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi signed Decision 1245/QD-BTC on retirement to enjoy insurance benefits from September 1, 2024 for Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs Hoang Viet Cuong.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi presented the decisions and flowers to Nguyen Van Can and Hoang Viet Cuong.

At the ceremony, delegates watched documentary films reviewing the working process, efforts, growth and contributions of Director General Nguyen Van Can and Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong to the development of Vietnam Customs.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi acknowledged and highly appreciated the great contributions of the two comrades to the development of Vietnam Customs and the overall achievements of the Finance sector.

The efforts, results and achievements of the two comrades have been recognized by the Party, State, Government and Ministry of Finance, and they have received noble prizes.

According to the Deputy Minister, as a member of the WTO Negotiation Delegation, in recent years, under the direction of comrade Nguyen Van Can, the international cooperation activities of the Customs sector have been put into practice, the position of Vietnam Customs has been upgraded, affirming the positive role and responsibility of Vietnam Customs within the framework of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and international organizations; the customs reform and modernization customs is assessed by the Government, ministries, branches and the business community as the leading unit in the block of state administrative agencies.

In tax collection, he has directed the synchronous and drastic implementation of a series of solutions to facilitate trade, improve the effectiveness of state management, prevent revenue loss, encourage and orient domestic production investment, stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation and develop the country.

In the work of anti-smuggling, he directed the Customs agency to preside over and coordinate with other agencies to seize many cases of smuggling and illegal transportation of drugs and prohibited goods, contributing to ensuring national security and public health safety.

For Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong, the Deputy Minister assessed: during his work, he has contributed to laying the foundation for building and perfecting the legal basis and customs procedures; gradually applying new management methods in customs management.

At the same time, he directed the reform of human resource management based on capacity and job positions, successful implementation of the system to assess the capacity of civil servants who do not hold leadership positions and team-level leaders of branches or equivalent in the years 2018-2019 and 2023; training and retraining of customs officers and civil servants.

At the ceremony, Director General Nguyen Van Can and Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong expressed their emotion and pride in being Customs officers and civil servants, working for the industry for a long time.

The two leaders expressed their gratitude and thanks to generations of leaders of the Ministry of Finance; departments under the Ministry of Finance; generations of leaders, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Customs industry who have accompanied and supported them during their work.

The two comrades also emphasized the characteristics and challenges that the Customs industry will have to face in the coming time; expected the leaders of the Ministry of Finance to continue to pay more attention to investing in the Customs industry, because the development of the Customs agency is the foundation for economic development, creating conditions for businesses and enhancing the image of Vietnam...
