Why is super-luxury Roll-Royce car imported to Hai Phong Port not subject to tax?

The information about a Roll-Royce car imported to Hai Phong Port, is attracting public attention, especially in the context where car imports have been gloomy in the first days of 2018 in the country.
“This car was declared in Hai Phong Customs, but it is subject to diplomatic car status, therefore, it is not subject to tax and specialized management. Currently, the car has been released and stored to complete procedures in accordance with provisions before being cleared,” said a representative of Dinh Vu Port Customs Branch where the Customs procedures were being carried out.
On 2nd February 2018, the first Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge was imported to Vietnam and was declared in Dinh Vu Port. This super-luxury car was painted in shiny black. It was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in early March 2016.
Some of the highlights of the Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge are the "Spirit of Ecstasy" figure has changed from silver to shiny black to match the body color; and some components such as the lazang alloy wheels 22 inch are made from aluminum and carbon fiber, as well as the air cleaner and exhaust.

The car's interior is also handcrafted by Rolls-Royce employees based on two main materials including aluminum and carbon.
Twin-Turbocharged 6.6L W12 engine was also assembled in the Wraith Black Badge with a maximum 624 horsepower, a maximum torque of up to 800Nm. Along with that, is a ZF 8 speed automatic transmission, so that the car can accelerate from 0-100km / h within 4.4 seconds. The current price of the Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge has not yet been revealed.
Regarding Roll-Royce imports, currently, Regal Motor Cars Corp., - the importer of this luxury car item is still nearly VND 2 billion in debt to Hai Phong Customs. |
