According to Da Nang Customs Department, Da Nang Police has prosecuted and arrested Natus Temmaythawittayalert (commonly known as Natus), age 22, Thai nationality for smuggling.

Natus is the owner of 20 iPhones 15 Promax that were discovered and seized by enforcement forces at Da Nang International Airport on September 23.

Expanding the investigation, Da Nang Police identified that Natus was involved in buying and selling mobile phones and had a store in Udon Thani province, Thailand. Natus purchased 23 iPhones 15 Promax, 256 GB model, with a price of about 52,900 Baht per iPhone (equivalent to VND35 million).

As of September 23, Natus carried 20 iPhones to Da Nang to sell to a buyer named Do Rrik at a price of VND39 million per iPhone.

Notably, to deal with the inspection by Vietnamese authorities at the airport, Do Rrik instructed Natus to open the seal, separate the phones from the phone boxes, mix the phone boxes with confectionery, hide them inside a carton, and then seal them as a cake box.

The mobile phones were wrapped in plastic and put them together with the accessories, then put them in a backpack. Although Natus knew that the products must be declared to the Customs, he still followed the instructions of Do Rrik to avoid inspection by the Customs.

However, on September 23, during the process of screening carry-on luggage of passengers entering the country on a flight from Bangkok to Vietnam across Da Nang International Airport Border Gate, officers of the Exit and Entry Luggage Customs Procedures Team detected suspicious signs. Natus was discovered and arrested by the enforcement authorities with 20 smuggled iPhones 15 Promax.
