VND 479 Billion contributed to state budget from violations handling

As a result, the market surveillance forces handled administrative fines that imposed amounted to VND404 billion, up 9% compared to the same period in 2023, confiscated goods were valued at nearly VND187 billion, also reflecting a 9% increase; destroyed goods were worth over VND186 billion, a significant rise of 69%; total contributions to the state budget reached VND479 billion, marking an 11% increase year-on-year.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that during the first 10 months of 2024, the number of administrative violations detected in areas such as banned goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit products, healthcare, pricing, labeling, standards and measurement, and product labeling decreased compared to the same period in 2023.
However, violations related to origin fraud, intellectual property infringement, food safety, agriculture, and particularly e-commerce showed an upward trend over the same period.
The most common violations continued to be in areas such as banned goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit products, healthcare, pricing and price listing, standards and measurement, product labeling.
Illegally imported goods, counterfeit items, and those infringing intellectual property rights were often stockpiled at border areas or intermediary warehouses along transportation routes before being distributed domestically.
During the period from September 15, 2024, to October 14, 2024, market surveillance forces conducted 6,396 inspections, identifying and handling 3,610 violations. Revenue from fines and confiscations during this period contributed over VND35 billion to the state budget.
