According to Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, from 20 March 2018, Tan Vu Port Branch can receive and load containers for transshipment and storage and warehousing services. This container port is in an area of 1,992 m2.

Charges for loading and unloading transshipped cargoes are equal to 150% of container loading and unloading rates according to service contracts between Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company and customers or according to the current tariff of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company.

Previously, in order to assist Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company to provide transshipment services and Customs clearance services, Hai Phong Customs Department had written 2344 / HQHP-GSQL to send to the Hai Phong port Customs Branch, Region I (Tan Vu port branch) to perform the related tasks.

Hai Phong Customs Department required the Customs Branch to organize the supervision and carry out Customs procedures for transshipped goods to the above-mentioned places.

Inspections and Customs procedures are carried out through the automated Customs supervision system (VASSCM) and current regulations.

Tan Vu port is considered as the most modern container port in Hai Phong port area. "Normally every day, there are about 2,000 imported and exported containers through the Customs supervision area at Tan Vu port, but on the peak occasions such as Tet holiday, the number of goods can reach 3,000 containers,"a Customs officer said.
