Thanh Hoa: Improving the effectiveness in coordination between Customs – Border Defence

In particular, the two forces have coordinated closely in inspection, control, immigration procedures, classification, isolation guidance at border areas in prevention and monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic. Regularly organising communication sessions to educate people about the fight against drugs between the two sides of the border gate and comply with measures of Covid-19 prevention.
Since the beginning of the year, the two units have coordinated to carry out immigration, import and export procedures at seaports for 28,817 people/1,599 vehicles; 7,898 people/3,460 road vehicles; total value of import and export turnover reached $7,441,421.710 (of that exports $2,710,353.021; import $4,731,068.689).
At the Nghi Son port border gate, the Nghi Son port Customs Branch worked with the Nghi Son Border Guard station to patrol, detect and handle the case of importing rice in the customs area without legal documents, seizing 1,035 bags equivalent to 41.5 tonnes of rice.
At the Na Meo international border gate area, the two forces coordinated to detect and handle two cases. In particular, one case of illegal transport of goods across the border, the obtained exhibits was 0.132 m3 of sandalwood; one case of illegal trade and transport of narcotics, the evidence obtained was 10 grams of opium.
Implementing coordination work in 2021, the two forces determined to continue to be proactive and further strengthen coordination, exchange of information, especially in the current of Covid-19 pandemic was still developing, and the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, and drug-related crime was becoming increasingly sophisticated.
