Import and export turnover soared

By the end of May 31, Quang Tri Customs had collected VND 671.9 billion.

Revenues mainly focused on key products such as imported machinery and equipment for investment projects, imported natural rubber and wood of all kinds,wood chips, and exported minerals

In the first half of 2021, Quang Tri Customs promoted information, support and advice on tax law for the business community.

The unit has also focusedon grasping the situation, exchanging information, receiving opinions from the business community for customs procedures, promptly solving and removing obstacles amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Quang Tri Customs, by the end of May, all three branches under the department reported higher increases in import-export turnover than the same period in 2020.

Notably, Cua Viet port border gate Customs Branch recorded higher turnover and budget revenue than in the same period in 2020.

Import-export turnover reached US$254,185 million, up 460.02% andState budget revenue reached VND498.29 billion (207.6 % higher than the target assigned in 2021), an increase of 1,485.52 % year-on-year.

At Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch, the indicators increased over the same period in 2020, in which the import-export turnover was VND205,328 million, rising92.6%.

State budget revenue increasedVND 141.847 billion, reaching 78.8% of the target, up 66.27% year-on-year, due to imported air conditioners with an import turnover of VND 21.76 billion.

At La Lay border gate Customs Branch, the import-export turnover hitUS$24.75 million, up 6.4% andbudget revenue reached VND31.1 billion, up 118.01% year-on-year.

Business dialogues strengthened

Quang Tri Customs Department will continue to promote the reform and simplification of administrative procedures in customs in the direction of modernity, publicity and transparency to contribute to improving the business environment and national competitiveness.

It will actively publicise, guide and encourage people and business community to use direct public services, ASEAN Single Window, National Single Window; and reform specialisedinspection for import and export goods and facilitate trade.

The department continues to develop solutions to attract import-export enterprisesinthe area; effectively implement measures to support customs clearance for imported machinery and equipment for investment projects in the province.

Arrange full-time civil servants to advise and resolve procedures for investors,receive feedback from businesses andsettle procedures quickly to reduce time and costs for businesses.

Strengthen business dialogues to receive questions and recommendations from firms about customs procedures to report to authorities for timely settlement and creating maximum convenience for businesses to attract them to carry out procedures at the unit.

On the other hand, inspect work of tax exemption, reduction, refund, and non-tax collection (in accordance with the Law on Import and Export Tax No. 107/2016/QH13, Decree 134/2016/ND-CP...) and focus on reviewing and inspecting tax exemption cases like tax exemption for processed and manufactured goods for export; goods imported to create fixed assets of investment incentive projects.
