Quang Tri Customs closely controls imported pork

Quang Tri Customs Department said that the media raised the issue of illegal trading and transportation of live pigs across Huong Hoa Border Gate that have taken place; the tricks of abusing cleared declaration forms of imported pork to bring smuggled pigs into quarantine areas or transport smuggled pigs across the border and bring them to domestic markets.
Facing this situation, Quang Tri Customs requested Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch to strengthen inspection and supervision measures during customs procedures for imported live pigs.
After allowing enterprises to bring imported live pigs for storage, the branch must provide information to the Customs Enforcement Team and the Anti-drug Enforcement Team.
Actively coordinate with Lao Bao Border Guard Station in exchanging information and proposing plans to coordinate in patrolling and controlling in the two wings of the border gate.
Quang Tri Customs Department has requested the Customs Enforcement Team and the Anti-drug Enforcement Team to strengthen the information collection and monitoring targeted areas and vehicles to offer specific plans.
The leader of Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch said that currently, two enterprises carry out customs procedures for importing piglets. However, the number of declaration form is insignificant, only 2-3 days/declaration form.
During carrying out customs procedures, the branch has closely controlled activities. In addition, the branch has planned to supervise and coordinate with the Border Guard to exchange information, grasp the situation and closely control the area.
