Proposing coordination in Maritime and Customs management at ports

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Sang, Director of Vietnam Maritime Department: Recently, Vietnam Maritime Department has directed port authorities to coordinate closely with the local Customs departments in the implementation of specialized State management in ports, especially in implementing the reform of administrative procedures and the exchange of information related to the specialized State management of Marine and Customs in port areas, facilitating for enterprises.

On 9/11/2015, Vietnam Maritime Department had a written Document No.4586/CHHVN-VTDVHH requiring Haiphong port authority to actively cooperate with regional Customs authorities to provide information related to the arrangement of locations forimported goods inspection and monitoring at Lach Huyen project port.

In addition, in order to have comprehensive coordination between the Vietnam Maritime Department and the General Department of Customs, in March 2014, Vietnam Maritime Department also cooperated with the Department of Supervision and Management (General Department of Customs) to complete the draft Regulation on coordination between the Vietnam Maritime Departmentand the General Department of Customs in performing the functions of State management specialized in Maritime andCustoms at seaports, border areas and water territory of Vietnam.

The draft Regulation includes contents of collaboration in providing information, documents and coordinating in the implementation of other aspects of their work such as: direction, control works; propaganda and popularization of law; professional training...
