In addition to the inspection and audit, units in the Customs sector have been requested to implement conclusions and recommendations of inspection and examination delegations of all levels, the Government Inspectorate and the Ministry of Finance.

Specifically, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has issued a scheme on renovating the internal inspection of the Customs sector; internal inspection regulations in the Customs sector; regulations on collection and processing of information for specialized inspections, internal inspections and anti-corruption in the Customs sector.

Particularly, in the third quarter, the whole Customs sector conducted 115 inspections, including 52 specialized inspections and 63 internal inspections. Thereby, it requested to collect arrears and fines of more than VND71.62 billion.

From the beginning of the year to the middle of September 2019, the Customs sector conducted 247 inspections and audits, thereby requiring arrears and fines of over VND192.84 billion. Of which, the amount of tax arrears was over VND168. 28 billion and administrative fines were VND24.56 billion. It also collected and contributed VND129.45 billion to the State budget.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs has focused on the prevention of corruption and issued guiding documents such as Decision 2327/QD-TCHQ dated August 8, 2019, on the plan for the implementation of the Minister of Finance's Decision No.1072/QD-BTC dated June 24, 2019; conducted inspections on prevention of corruption according to the approved plan.
