Official dissolution of Saigon port area 2 Customs Branch

HCM City Customs Department issued Decision No.3189 defining functions, tasks, authority, organisational structure and working relationship of Saigon port area 3 Customs Branch, on the basis of dissolution and transferring the task of carrying out customs procedures for entry and exit vehicles and import and export goods which used to be performed by Saigon port area 2 Customs Branch to the Saigon port area 3 Customs Branch. This decision officially took effect from December 1, 2019.

Thus, from December 1, 2019, shipping lines, customs brokers as well as import and export enterprises in the area previously managed by Saigon port area 2 Customs Branch would contact Saigon port area 3 Customs Branch to carry out customs procedures.

On September 19, 2019, the Minister of Finance signed the Decision 1863/QD-BTC about the dissolution of Saigon port area 2 Customs Branch under Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department.

To implement the decision, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requested Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department develop and deploy the plan.

After more than two months of reviewing, checking, storing and transferring accounting data and tax debt data on the centralised tax accounting system; formulating a plan to connect the communication infrastructure between the Saigon port area 2 Customs Branch and Saigon port area 3 Customs Branch; and between Saigon port area 3 Customs Branch with Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department toward a new organisational model.

At the same time, handing over the head office, facilities, techniques, records, documents and other duties of Saigon port area 2 Customs Branch to Saigon port area 3 Customs Branch to take out.

Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has implemented necessary measures to dissolve and transfer the tasks of the units in accordance with regulations, without causing disturbance and affecting the performance of political tasks as assigned.
