Lao Cai: about 500 vehicles are cleared through customs everyday

Lao Cai Border Gate has witnessed stable and seamless import-export activities throughout the first half of 2024, even during holidays and Tet occasion. There have been no reports of congestion or delays in the movement of goods.
The main commodities traded through the border gate remain traditional items, including exporting timber logs, dragon fruit, watermelon, durian, jackfruit, bananas, rambutans, mangoes, cassava, and others; importing flowers, ornamental plants, fresh fruits and vegetables, coking coal, fertilizers, machinery and equipment, confectionery, and electric power.
On average, over 500 vehicles pass through the border gate daily, with approximately 200 vehicles for exports and over 300 vehicles for imports.
Customs clearance activities at the international railway border gate continue steadily, with 4 to 6 trains crossing the border each day, primarily carrying transit goods such as sulfur and iron ore.
Border crossings have seen a notable increase in the first half of the year, with an average of 7,000 to 8,000 people entering and exiting the country daily, including tourists passing through the border gate. This represents a significant rise compared to the same period last year.
