Noi Bai International Airport Customs attracts many new businesses to carry out procedures

The Noi Bai International Airport Customs Gate Branch has collected nearly VND 2,750 billion in state budget revenue in the first half of 2024, an increase of 3.91% compared to the same period in 2023. However, this result only represents 41.35% of the branch's assigned state budget revenue target for 2024 (VND 6,650 billion).

The branch has identified several factors that have negatively impacted its revenue collection. For example, the implementation of Government Decree No. 94/2023/NĐ-CP dated December 28, 2023, which reduced the VAT rate for many goods from 10% to 8%, has led to a corresponding decrease in VAT revenue.

The ongoing tariff reduction roadmap under various Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) has also resulted in lower import tariffs for certain goods, further affecting state budget revenue.

Notably, among the 30 major taxpayers under Noi Bai Customs Branch, 19 companies experienced a decrease in revenue in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, with a total decline of VND 126.4 billion.

In response to these challenges, the Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branh has implemented various measures to boost revenue collection. The branch has vigorously and consistently implemented measures to support and facilitate import-export businesses. It has maintained close communication with businesses, monitored the revenue performance of major taxpayers, and promptly addressed their concerns and challenges.

Focusing on inspecting declarations regarding the quantity, weight, type, name, and value of exported and imported goods, as well as the classification of goods, application of tariff codes and rates, and strict control over declarations of origin, combating fraudulent origin claims, and intellectual property violations.

In the first half of 2024, 2,262 new businesses registered for tax payments under the Branch (compared to zero in the same period in 2023), generating an additional VND 289.6 billion in tax revenue.

Among the 30 major taxpayers under the Branch, 11 companies experienced an increase in revenue in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, with a total increase in tax payments of VND 165.1 billion.
