Nghe An Customs removes problems for businesses engaging in import and export activities through the province

At the conference, Mr. Chu Quang Hai, Director of Nghe An Customs Department, said as of September 20, the unit has attracted 406 businesses to register for customs procedures through the province. Those who register for customs procedures are mainly FDI enterprises, export processing enterprises, and joint stock companies, with items such as plastic beads, electronic components, aluminum coils, garment materials, vegetable oil, white limestone powder and building materials. So far, the unit has received and processed 37,000 sets of declarations with a total import-export turnover of over US$2.3 billion.

With the determination to promote digital transformation to support enterprises in import-export activities, contributing to solving difficulties, boosting socio-economic development, and increasing revenue for the state budget, Nghe An Customs has made efforts to strengthen administrative reform and shorten customs clearance time. In addition, Nghe An Customs has offered solutions to help enterprises in customs clearance and remove the difficulties for businesses, creating favorable conditions for import-export activities of goods and services.

However, also according to Mr. Chu Quang Hai, despites many efforts in modernization and reform of customs procedures, the implementation still has some problems, the dialogue is a chance for Nghe An Customs to meet and listen to comments, suggestions and difficulties that businesses are facing to develop appropriate solutions.

In addition, through the dialogue conference, Nghe An Customs also wants to introduce some new tax policies and customs procedures related to import-export activities of FDI enterprises; Customs inspection and supervision conditions for export processing enterprises.

At the dialogue, Nghe An Customs received 24 questions and proposals from nine enterprises related to customs procedures, import and export process, especially regulations on VAT exemption and reduction procedures for processing enterprises in industrial parks; tax exemption and reduction for imported raw materials for export production; the list of goods eligible for tax exemption or reduction; and the kinds of goods allowed to be imported or destroyed.

At the conference, the representatives of Nghe An Customs answered questions under their authority and noted important contents to coordinate with other relevant agencies to solve. However, a representative of Nghe An Customs Department said that the regulations on tax management policies and procedures for import and export goods are becoming more and more strict, so the Customs agency also notes that enterprises should learn procedures carefully, and avoid errors that lead to unnecessary damages. If there are still unclear issues in implementation, enterprises should actively contact the Customs office for timely guidance.

Mr. Chu Quang Hai said, with the determination to accompany and understand the business community, Nghe An Customs will continue to offer solutions to solve difficulties for the businesses. In which, the unit will focus on solving problems related to fast customs clearance.

Especially, Nghe An Customs will continue to develop plans for administrative reform, modernization, risk management and strengthening Customs – Business partnership to help importers and exporters save time, costs, and create more convenience in customs clearance and tax payment. In addition, the unit shall closely coordinate with agencies such as Tax, Treasury, and banks to promptly deal with problems of enterprises, contributing to accelerating import-export activities in the province.
