At the meeting, Director of Bac Ninh Customs Department Tran Duc Hung said that currently, the department has managed 31 industrial parks with an area of more than 12,000 hectares. According to planning, the number and scale of industrial parks will continue to increase in the coming time.

“The surge in the number of enterprises has led the increase in the volume of imports and exports, imposing requirements and pressure in management for the Customs to meet management requirements while facilitating international trade activities,’’ Director Tran Duc Hung said.

In order to complete political tasks as well as satisfy local economic and social development requirements, Bac Ninh Customs Department continues to promote customs reform and modernization, reduction of customs clearance time for imports and exports, especially the application of modern information technology system.

In addition, the Department expedites the implementation of activities related to developing Customs-Business Partnership and the Pilot Program to support businesses to voluntarily comply with customs laws. Accordingly, the department proactively grasps information of enterprises, publicizes and supports the business community to understand and comply with regulations related to import and export activities, helping them gradually improve the compliance level, reduce the rate of declarations subject to dossier inspection and physical inspection of goods.

Activities deployed by Bac Ninh Customs Department not only concretize the goals of reform and modernization of the Customs industry but also improve the provincial competitiveness index of Bac Ninh Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen provinces.

Director Tran Duc Hung said that in the first days of 2024, Bac Ninh Customs Department has directed its subordinate units to facilitate and shorten customs clearance time for imports and exports, contributing to promoting production, business and economic development.

In the first days of the year, the department’s leaders worked Thai Nguyen based-companies of Trina Solar Group to grasp problems and proposals of these companies to promptly remove difficulties, instruct and further facilitate businesses in developing production, business, and import-export activities.

At the meeting, a representative of Solar Group (Chinese FDI company) said that the Group is the world's leading solar energy solutions provider. The Group's first factory in Thai Nguyen has gone into operation in 2021 in Yen Binh Industrial Park, Thai Nguyen.

Currently, the Group has been granted Investment Certificates for three projects located in Yen Binh Industrial Park with a total investment capital of US$932 million and a total area of more than 11 hectares (of which two projects have been put into operation). Solar Group's Thai Nguyen-based factories produce photovoltaic cells (solar batteries), solar modules; silicon bars and monocrystalline silicon wafers.

Of these, the third project has just been granted an Investment Certificate on February 19, 2024 with a capital of US$454 million.

Mr. LU SONGBO, Import-Export Director of Solar Group said that during the implementation of projects and operation in Thai Nguyen, the group has been supported and facilitated by Bac Ninh Customs Department and Thai Nguyen Customs Branch. Especially, the Customs has instructed and removed difficulties for the group to well comply with the law and to be quickly cleared goods.

“The facilitation by Bac Ninh Customs Department is an important motivation for the Group to decide to soon increase investment capital in Thai Nguyen. We hope that the department will continue to accompany and support the group in the near future,” Mr. LU SONGBO said.
