According to Lao Cai Customs Department, the import and export turnover in May increased by 48% month-on-month to US$ 365 million. The export turnover increased by 65% to US$ 309 million, and the import turnover dropped 6% to US$ 56 million.

Exported products mainly are peeled wood, durian, dragon fruit, cassava, green bananas, lychees, footwear, coffee, yellow phosphorus...; Imported products mainly are agricultural products, fertilizers, chemicals, coke, electricity, plastics, plastic products, iron and steel and iron and steel products, machines and mechanical equipment, confectionery…

The revenue in May reached VND 99.9 billion, declining 33.5% month-on-month and increasing by 53% year-on-year.

The revenue in April surged because Lao Cai Customs has collected over VND 56 billion of tax debt from Lao Cai Mineral Exploitation and Processing Joint Stock Company (recovered tax debt of more than 56 billion VND).

By the end of May, Lao Cai Customs Department collected VND509.3 billion, reaching 48.5% compared to the target of the whole year assigned by the Ministry of Finance.
