Lang Son focuses on preventing goods from being transported illegally across the border

VCN - Recently, forces in Lang Son province have continuously discovered and arrested many cases of illegal transportation of goods across the border, especially smuggling and illegal transportation of poultry breeds. To prevent this situation, Steering Committee 389 of Lang Son province requested the Party Committee, authorities, and functional forces to join hands and drastically stop smuggling, trade fraud, and illegal transportation of goods in the management area.

The number of poultry was discovered by the forces at the warehouse in Quan Phat village, Yen Khoai commune on October 3.

Continuously arresting illegal poultry

According to the assessment of Steering Committee 389 of Lang Son province, recently, there has been an unknown situation of smuggled goods being frozen preserved foods (chicken feet, pig feet, buffalo meat, beef, etc) without clear origin, originating from the inland area and be transported to border communes of Cao Loc, Loc Binh, Trang Dinh districts along the trails across the border to China. The situation of trade fraud through the import and export of goods at border gates is potentially complicated, especially the situation of smuggling, transporting, and illegally trading poultry breeds across the border, etc.

In particular, recently, the situation of illegal trading and transportation of smuggled poultry from the border is showing signs of a sharp outbreak with sophisticated tricks. According to preliminary statistics, from July until now, the Police, Border Guard, Market Management and Customs forces in Lang Son province have detected, arrested and handled over 25 cases of illegally transporting poultry breeds with a quantity of over 68,000.

Typically, on September 29, at km31 of Provincial Road 234 in Hop Nhat village, Nhan Ly commune, Chi Lang district, Lang Son Police - Market Surveillance force inspected the truck with license plate 12C - 074.71 Driven by Quan Van Binh, residing in Po Cai village, Gia Cat commune, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, the vehicle transported 19,800 chicks without being able to present documents proving their origin.

Previously, on the night of September 28, at km1 of Provincial Road 237 in Ban Tang village, Khanh Xuan commune, Loc Binh district, the Police and Market Surveillance forces also discovered and arrested a gathering of smuggled chickens, exhibits including 4,800 breeding chicks.

Most recently, in the afternoon of October 3, the Police, Border Guard, Customs and Market Surveillance forces discovered that 4,827 breeding chicks were being gathered at the warehouse in Quan Phat village, Yen Khoai commune.

Tighten from the border

To effectively carry out the work of anti-smuggling and trade fraud, and prevent the illegal transportation of goods across the border, especially at the end of the year, Head of Steering Committee 389 of Lang Son province, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Duong Xuan Huyen province requested, Lang Son Border Guard Command, Lang Son Customs Department, Lang Son Police, Lang Son Market Surveillance Department, Region 7 Animal Quarantine Branch, Standing Committee Direct 389 provinces and Steering Committee 389 of border districts to strengthen measures to prevent and handle cases of illegal trading and transportation of poultry and poultry products across the border; Inspect and supervise anti-smuggling activities of functional units to prevent negativity, associated with promoting the roles and responsibilities of heads of agencies, units and localities in inspecting and supervising officers performing public duties.

Accordingly, the Head of Steering Committee 389 of Lang Son province requested the Border Guard force to regularly maintain the number of troops on duty at the checkpoints on the border. Strengthen patrols and strictly control trails, warehouses, and goods gathering points outside the scope of customs operations; promptly detect, arrest and handle smugglers and illegal transport of goods and poultry breeds across the border. At the same time, coordinate with functional forces and local authorities to inspect and control anti-smuggling and propagate and mobilize the masses not to participate in or assist smugglers and trade fraudsters, preventing illegal transportation of goods across borders.

The Head of Steering Committee 389 of Lang Son province also proposed that Lang Son Customs Department strengthens professional work within the area of customs operations; Organizes inspection and strict control of import and export goods and luggage, promptly detect and strictly handle those who commit acts of smuggling and trade fraud through border gates. Proactively coordinate with Border Guard forces to prevent smuggling of goods on border trails outside the customs area; Coordinate with domestic functional forces to inspect and handle violations.

Region 7 Animal Quarantine Branch needs to coordinate with functional forces at the border gate to strengthen inspection and control of import and export goods, promptly detect and handle violations of veterinary law; Handling of goods and exhibits that are smuggled animals and animal products.

Lang Son Market Surveillance Department strengthens forces in key areas with complicated smuggling situations to inspect and strictly handle violators, especially commercial fraud to bring contraband commodities into circulation on the market, trading counterfeit goods, goods violating intellectual property, violating regulations on food hygiene and safety, buying, selling, and exchanging goods on social networks, etc.

Lang Son Provincial Police need to continue to direct professional units, strengthen forces for units in key areas, and drastically deploy professional and reconnaissance measures; Detect and thoroughly handle lines, locations, and entities trading, transporting, and storing contraband goods and poultry breeds in the area; detect and effectively fight smuggling activities, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and banned goods in cyberspace; Strengthen patrols, traffic control, and support in anti-smuggling work on traffic routes.

Steering Committee 389 of border districts continues to direct units and forces to coordinate in carrying out propaganda work for the people to comply with the provisions of the law on anti-smuggling, trade fraud, production and business of counterfeit and banned goods; Good management of people entering illegally or transporting smuggled goods across the border; Encourage people to report violations.
