Joint efforts to destroy many big drug crime rings

VCN - The Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control (Border Guard Command); the Department of Drug-related Crime Investigation (Ministry of Public Security); the Department of Professional Affairs and Law (Coast Guard Command) and the Department of Anti-Smuggling Investigation (General Department of Customs) organized a conference among specialized agencies in charge of drug crime prevention and control at the central level in 2024.

According to the assessment, in 2024, the coordination among specialized agencies of the Border Guard, Police, Customs, and Coast Guard have been carried out seriously and effectively. Accordingly, the agencies led and commanded at all levels of the Border Guard, Police, Coast Guard and Customs regularly paid attention to and directed specialized agencies in charge of drug crime prevention and control under their authority to effectively implement the contents of the signed coordination regulations and plans. Therefore, the anti-drug crime work has achieved positive results.

Of which, the Drug-related Crime Investigation Police Department has detected and successfully fought 79 cases, arrested 316 criminals, seized 1,053.94 kg of various drugs and many other related evidences. Of which, there were 6 cases implemented under coordination with specialized agencies for drug crime prevention and control of the Border Guard, Coast Guard, and Customs, arresting 37 criminals, seizing nearly 670 kg of various drugs.

The drug and crime prevention and control force under the Border Guard presided over and coordinated with other forces to handle 960 cases/1,323 criminals; seize nearly 2 tons of various drugs and many other related evidences.

Border Guard units have presided over, coordinated to establish and successfully fight 63 special cases, seizing more than 1.14 tons of various drugs. In which, the unit coordinated with other forces to destroy 27 specialized cases, arrested 62 criminals, and seized nearly 500 kg of various drugs.

The specialized force for drug crime prevention and control, the Vietnam Coast Guard, coordinated with specialized forces to combat 223 cases, arrested 322 suspects, seized 478.68 kg of various drugs and some other related evidence.

The drug crime prevention and control force of the Customs agency presided over and coordinated with specialized forces to arrest 260 cases with 312 suspects, seized about 1.73 tons of various drugs on air routes, express delivery routes, and roads.

The results of anti-drug crime in 2024, especially the dismantling of many large drug crime rings, demonstrated the spirit of resolute and uncompromising fight against drug crimes of specialized forces; the effectiveness of the coordination among specialized agencies has promptly prevented many drug crime gangs from the border area, contributing to protecting the country's security and order and maintaining national border security sovereignty.

In particular, Project A724p chaired by the Department of Drug Prevention and Control and the Department of Investigation Police on Drug-related Crimes, in coordination with the Department of Professional Affairs and Law/Coast Guard, the Department of Anti-Smuggling Investigation (General Department of Customs) arrested 10 criminals, seized 211 kg of various drugs and some related documents...

At the conference, representatives of the agencies agreed that the agencies would continue to promote synchronous coordination measures in crime prevention to ensure social order and safety; At the same time, strengthening the advisory role in consolidating the grassroots political system, promoting the strength of the entire people and the entire political system to participate in the fight against crime and drug abuse in border areas, border gates, sea areas and inland areas.
