Ha Tinh Customs collaborates to apprehend suspect transporting 4kg of methamphetamine

At approximately 10:30 AM on November 4, 2024, at the Rao Qua Bridge area in Tay Son Town, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province, a joint task force comprising the Police, Border Guards, and Customs apprehended Vu Duc Thinh, born in 2003 and residing in Binh Nghia Commune, Luc Binh District, Ha Nam Province. Thinh was caught red-handed illegally transporting drugs by motorcycle from Tay Son Town toward Pho Chau Town.

At the scene, authorities seized 4 kilograms of synthetic methamphetamine in crystalline form.

Prior to this operation, authorities had conducted extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering in the area. They identified Vu Duc Thinh as having connections with individuals in Laos to facilitate the purchase and illegal transport of narcotics across the border in Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province. These drugs were then intended for distribution in northern provinces and cities.

Despite his young age, Thinh employed highly sophisticated and cunning tactics. He frequently changed his methods, routes, and operational patterns to evade detection by law enforcement.

After an extended period of monitoring, early on November 4, 2024, authorities received information indicating that Thinh planned to travel to a secret location to collect the drugs for distribution. A coordinated operation was promptly launched, leading to his capture.

The Ha Tinh Provincial Police have since initiated legal proceedings against the case and the suspect. Further investigations are ongoing to expand the case and uncover any additional individuals or networks involved.
