Khanh Hoa Customs sees good revenue, expected to exceed target

Completing the target after the first half of year

According to Khanh Hoa Customs Department, this year's revenue at the unit has seen many improvements. Currently, Van Phong Customs Branch - in charge of state budget collection for the entire unit - has reached the finish line, with the result of over VND 1,650 billion to the state budget, reaching 101.60% of the assigned target (VND 1,624 billion), up by more than 95.49% year-on-year.

The leader of Van Phong Customs Branch said that in the first half of 2024, the main items undergoing customs clearance procedures at the branch surged, including petroleum products, coal...

Specifically, budget revenue from imported petroleum reached VND838 billion, accounting for 50.78%, coal products reached VND610 billion, accounting for 36.96% of the Branch's total main revenue and other revenues came from asphalt, wood chips, machinery and equipment, spare parts, iron and steel, paint thinners and anti-corrosion paints for the shipbuilding industry.

Along with the increased volume of imported goods in the first six months of 2024, to achieve the above results, right from the beginning of 2024, Van Phong Customs Branch has developed plans and work programs on all fields to carry out assigned political tasks, especially the reform of administrative procedures and modernization of customs, which have brought many practical benefits, shortened customs clearance time. Thereby, saving time and costs for businesses.

Along with that, Van Phong Customs Branch publicly posted legal policies and administrative procedures at the customs clearance counter combined with communication on social network platforms, creating links with businesses; regularly follow the business's operations to support and promptly resolve arising problems; create favorable conditions for investors to implement projects; attract new businesses to carry out procedures, contributing to increasing state budget revenue for the Branch.

Motivated by the flexible and proactive solutions mentioned above, in the first six months of 2024, the branch has completed customs clearance procedures for 5,744 import and export declarations with a total turnover of nearly US$ 1.4 billion, an increase of 39.83% over the same period in 2023... helping the branch complete the revenue target early.

Red channel declarations reduced by nearly 40%

Thanks to positive revenue from Van Phong Customs Branch, it has contributed to the state budget revenue results of Khanh Hoa Customs Department.

As of July 8, 2024, the Khanh Hoa Customs Department collected VND1,847.91 billion, reaching 86.35% of the assigned target, an increase of 72.25%, equivalent to an increase of VND775.1 billion compared to the same period in 2023.

According to analysis of Khanh Hoa Customs Department, the main source of revenue of the unit come from petroleum of VND 881.89 billion, accounting for 47.72% of the total revenue of the whole department; up nearly 200% or VND582.68 billion year-on-year.

Revenue from Coal products serving the Van Phong thermal power project is VND548.74 billion, accounting for 29.70% of the total revenue of the whole department, an increase of 55.15%, or VND195.05 billion compared to the same period last year. The reason for the increase is due to increased imported coal serving the operation of Van Phong Thermal Power Plant.

In addition, revenue from tobacco raw materials reached VND189.69 billion, accounting for 10.27% of the total revenue of the whole department, an increase of 68.45% over the same period in 2023, equivalent to an increase of VND77.08 billion. With the above results, Khanh Hoa Customs Department estimates that total revenue for the whole year 2024 is estimated to exceed 21.38% of the assigned target to about VND2,597.56 billion.

In the first six months of 2024, Khanh Hoa Customs Department cleared over 14,600 declarations, an increase of 10.72%, with a total import-export turnover of nearly US$1.9 billion, an increase of 21.54%.

In particular, to ensure the smooth flow of a large number of declarations, the whole department applies channeling criteria with the rate of increasing the Green channel and decreasing the Red channel. Specifically, there were 10,935 Green channel declarations, accounting for 74.83%; 3,388 Yellow channel declarations, accounting for 23.19% and 290 Red channel declarations, accounting for 1.98%.

Compared to the same period in 2023, the total number of declarations increased by 1,415, respectively: Green channel increased by 1,832 (up 20.13%), Yellow channel by 225 (down 6.23%), and Red channel reduced 192 (down 39.83%).
