Import-export turnover in Hai Phong Customs sees good growth in August

Total import-export turnover in the Department reached about US$7.52 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2%, Hai Phong Customs Department reported.
Of which, export turnover was US$3.699 billion, up by 8.2%; taxable export turnover reached US$18.4 million, up by 63.8%.
Import turnover reached US$3.82 billion, down by 3.4%, of which taxable import turnover reached US$1.434 billion, down by 15.35%.
Items with large revenues in Hai Phong Customs remained in a downtrend in August such as automobiles, automobile components and parts thereof, motorbikes, petroleum, beverages, iron and steel.
Particularly, import turnover from automobiles reached US$69.85 million, down by 5.2%, automobiles components and parts thereof US$26.56 million, down by 58.4%,motorbikes US$ 0.15 million, down by 84.2%, petroleum US$42.34 million, down 61.3%, beverages US$0.52 million, down by 59.6%; iron and steel US$219.66 million, down by 10.4%
In addition to items seeing declines, some imported items reached good turnover in August such as: motorbike components and part thereof reached US$1.71 million, up by 18.6%; cosmetics US$0.34 million, up by 110.2%; machinery and equipment more than US$1.644 billion, up by 4.2%.
In August, Hai Phong customs department processed 154,155 declarations. Of which, there were 85,144 imported declarations and 69,011 exported declarations, up by 0.24% over the same period last year but down by 2.76% over July, 2020.
The branch with the highest number of declarations was the Export processing and Industrial Park Customs Branch with 35,758 declarations and the branch with the lowest number of declarations was Hai Phong Port Zone 2 Customs with 3,216 declarations.

Of port customs branches, Hai Phong Port Zone 3 Customs Branch had the highest number of declarations with 11,787 declarations.
