According to Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Branch, from the end of September, the Chinese side has changed the delivery method for full-time drivers at Huu Nghi international border gate, affecting the delivery time of import and export enterprises.

This slows customs clearance at the border gate, leading to congestion.

According to a representative of Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Branch, the large volume of import and export goods sometimes leads to congestion, hampering not only businesses but also state agencies at Huu Nghi international border gate.Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Branch reported that, from early this year, the unit has received 32,906 sets of declarations with a value of nearly US$2 billion and carried out procedures for 518,964 vehicles on entry and exit.

To help customs clearance activities at the border gate take place smoothly, Huu Nghi Customs has actively worked with border guards and warehouse operators to develop solutions to speed up customs clearance as soon as possible.

However, the congestion has not been completely resolved. The People's Committee of Lang Son province should request competent forces for closer cooperation to release vehicles carrying export goods.

To promptly support exporters in customs clearance, Huu Nghi Customs has arranged officers to work on a rotating basis to receive and handle customs procedures for businesses. In particular, to ensure the task in each stage, the unit added officers to the unit in charge of physical inspection of goods.

Along with that, Huu Nghi Customs also continued to thoroughly understand each department to strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 3980/TCHQ-GSQL dated August 11, 2021 on supporting customs clearance of goods against the Covid-19 pandemic, strengthen the implementation of procedures on online public services, reduce the use of paper documents, allow enterprises to delay in submitting documents in accordance with the law to support enterprises in customs clearance of goods.
