Nguyen Tien Bo, Director of the Huu Nghi Customs Department said that, since May, the situation of import and export goods at Huu Nghi international border gate has returned to normal. Especially, in July, the volume of goods imported and exported by enterprises was higher and saw no more congestion as before.
According to Bo, the control of the Covid-19 pandemic has been effectively implemented by both Vietnam and China, so the trade through the border has recovered well, the volume of imported goods was equal to the same period in 2019, while the import turnover increased significantly.
In particular, from the beginning of the year to August 3, the unit collected and paid over VND1,817 billion to the state budget, reaching over 60% of the assigned plan and in July, the unit collected VND277.2 billion.
Huu Nghi Customs Branch said that from now to the end of the year, the prospect of recovery and growth of import and export turnover was very positive, because many businesses have planned to implement contracts for import and export of goods for manufacturing and business after social distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In order to promote the import and export activities of enterprises through the locality, and at the same time strive to complete the assigned tasks, Nguyen Tien Bo stressed the unit has continued to create the most favorable conditions for businesses through administrative procedures reform, increased working hours in the day to handle clearance procedures, support and solve problems and difficulties for businesses.
At the same time, when the Covid-19 pandemic continued to break out in some provinces and cities in the country, the unit will also actively grasp the changes regarding the management of import and export goods from China especially quality management, quarantine, traceability of exported goods from Vietnam.
