Hundreds of smuggled speakers detected in transit shipment

The shipment was imported from the United States in transit through Vietnam for export to Cambodia via Vinh Xuong international border gate in An Giang.

It was imported and opened declaration at the customs office of Cai Mep Customs Department (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province). In the declaration, transit goods are included 170 units of electronic items.

The shipment was unloaded at Tan Cang Cai Mep then loaded for shipping to Vinh Xuong international border gate, but when suspicious signswere detected, Squadron 3 sent monitoring officers during the transit journey.

At Vinh Xuong international border gate, after examining the shippers export Customsdeclaration, Squadron 3 collaborated with the functional force to inspect the shipment, however, because there is no appropriate cranes to unloading the cargo, hence the ship was moved to Cao Lanh Newport harbor for checking.

The authorities examined the shipment, and discovered 407 used Acoustic speakers and amplifiers,onthe list of goods banned for import, if in transit, they must be licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The entire shipment has been seized and is being held temporarily at the port of Newport Cao Lanh, Squadron 3 is continuing to coordinate the investigation.
