According to Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, in the first five months of 2022, the unit completed customs clearance procedures for 1,228,217 sets of import and export declarations, down 4.02% year-on-year; and recorded US$53.461 billion in trade.

Of which, the number of export declarations is 592,687 sets, down 0.43% and the number of import declarations is 635,530 sets, down 7.14%, year-on-year.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, after the Covid-19 pandemic, Ho Chi Minh City's economy has recovered, businesses restored their operations and import-export activities, thereby significantly contributing to raising state budget revenues in the city.

As of May 15, Ho Chi Minh City Customs rose 11.3% year-on-year to VND50,573.6 billion, reaching 43.4% of the assigned target (VND116,500 billion) and 42.3% of the ambitious target (VND119,500 billion).

With the above results, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department estimated the budget revenue by May 31, 2022 to reach VND56,700 billion (reaching 48.7% of the assigned target and 47.5% of the ambitious target), an increase of 10.8% year-on-year.
