Ho Chi Minh City Customs focuses on effectively implementing customs modernization

Reporting at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department said in 2021, due to the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic, trade union activities have been restricted, mainly on taking care of the lives of officials and employees affected by the pandemic. The Customs Department also determined that this is a long-term task when the pandemic situation in the world as well as in the country is still very complicated.
However, the Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has been active in participating in activities such as the gratitude movement, visiting and giving gifts to officials in the department in difficult circumstances, meeting and giving gifts to former customs officers who were retired with total support of VND644 million; and supporting customs officers in extremely difficult circumstances during New Year's Eve with an amount of VND270 million from the "Program on sharing for teammates"; supported and visited trade union members and their relatives in sickness and maternity and support for filial piety, support for those who suffer serious illness with an amount of VND140 million.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department Dinh Ngoc Thang said in 2021, although the Covid-19 pandemic was complicated, with the efforts of customs officers, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department achieved excellent results. Organizations of the Party Committee, Trade Union, and Youth Union ranked among the most highly appreciated by Ho Chi Minh City's leaders and have performed well in their leadership roles.
In particular, the trade union performed its role in ensuring the rights of employees during the pandemic.
Ho Chi Minh City Customs has applied information technology in operating and performing tasks. As a result, Ho Chi Minh City Customs ranked in the top 3 in terms of administrative procedure reform.
