With the target of 2017, reducing the clearance time for goods, for exports, from 108 hours to 70 hours; Imports, reduce from 138 hours to 90 hours; Implementing online public administrative procedure level 3 with 41 procedures. Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City strives to reduce the rate of yellow flow (check records) corresponding to the process of specialised inspection law for imported and exported goods from 38% to less than 20%.

Thanks to these overall solutions, together with the efforts of the officers in the unit, the revenue of the Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City in recent years has always reached high. In 2016, the unit's revenue for the first time exceeded 100,000 billion.

In 2017, the Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City issued the Planning Document 494 / KH-HQTP dated 28/2/2017 on the implementation of the program "Business community and customs agencies are reliable partners and companion development ", with the purpose of meeting discussion on solutions to solve difficulties, facilitating trade, supporting business development.
