HCM City Customs Department honors typical enterprises in 2021

VCN – Fourteen typical enterprises in 2021 were recognized at a ceremony honoring typical enterprises held by HCM City Customs Department.

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Deputy Chairwoman of the HCMC People's Committee Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai, Director General of Vietnam Customs Nguyen Van Can and Deputy Director General of Vietnam Customs Mai Xuan Thanh.

This ceremony aimed to honor and recognize the great contribution of enterprises in 2021.

Although experiencing the serious impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, enterprises made great efforts to overcome difficulties, maintain production and actively contribute to the state budget.

Accompanying enterprises, in 2021, HCM City Customs Department deployed the plan “Business community and HCM City Customs Department are credible partners, accompany to develop” for six consecutive years. In particular, the Department strongly promoted reform; applying advanced science and technology; solutions on improving the business environment; enhancing national competitiveness.

The plan has received the agreement of the business community and business associations and gained many achievements.

Also, in 2021, HCM City Customs Department issued programmes and plans to ensure full content in order to synchronously and drastically implement the direction of leaders at all levels, the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Through the programmes and action plans, it showed that HCM City Customs Department considers import-export enterprises companions, sharing and supporting each other to develop.

Appreciating the active cooperation of business associations, and especially the business community with the Customs authority in recent years, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department Dinh Ngoc Thang said that this cooperation has created conditions for the Customs sector and Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department to successfully complete assigned political tasks, gradually improve mechanisms and policies, modernize customs in terms of procedures and policies. At the same time, it has promoted the relationship and companionship between the business community and the Customs authority.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Thi Thang shared the difficulties of businesses in the past year. However, with the efforts of enterprises to overcome challenges, they have maintained production, contributed to the financial sector of Ho Chi Minh City, including Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, in order to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City wishes to continue to receive the companionship and valuable comments of the business community to continue to build a more developed Ho Chi Minh City. The City is committed to continuing to facilitate, create a business and investment environment for the business community to feel secure in production and development.

In the presence of the Consul General, national counselors, leaders of domestic and foreign business associations and the most typical enterprises in 2021, Director Dinh Ngoc Thang committed to supporting businesses.

In particular, HCM City Customs Department would actively support the business community to observe customs laws, strengthen administrative procedure reform, modernize customs, and strive to reduce the time required for carrying out clearance procedures, avoid causing problems or increasing costs for businesses.

Also, committed to resolutely handling and eliminating the behavior of "interference, negativity, bureaucracy away from people, away from businesses" in the contingent of customs officers. Determined to "clean up the apparatus" to best serve the business community for economic development.

The Department would strengthen management, anti-smuggling and against trade fraud in order to create a fair competitive environment for businesses. Strengthening cooperation with enterprises in the spirit of frank exchange for rectification and always being a comprehensive partner in accordance with the provisions of the Law for mutual development.

Continuing to coordinate well with domestic and foreign business associations to exchange, listen and receive ideas to immediately solve difficulties and problems or report to leaders at a higher level for consideration and direction to handle problems that hinder the commercial activities of the business community.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department continues to perform the dual task of Covid-19 pandemic prevention and facilitating import-export businesses, contributing to socio-economic development following the motto of safe adaptation, flexible, effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, striving to provide maximum support to the business community and businesses of Ho Chi Minh City to achieve the goals assigned by the National Assembly, the Government, the Ministry of Finance and the City People's Committee that are revenue collection will achieve 100% of the estimate in 2022.
