Hanoi Customs Department handled 370 violation cases in 6 months

Furthermore, out of 370 violation case, Hanoi Customs Department detected 10 cases of smuggling and illegal goods transportation across the border; prosecuted a criminal case of illegal goods transport across border including 4 guns and 91 lead cartridges, occurred on 20^th February 2017 at Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch.

In addition, Hanoi Customs Department has detected 3 cases of narcotics transportation. Notably, the case of transporting 20,418 synthetic drugs sent from the Netherlands to Vietnam was detected by Express Customs Branch in coordination with the Drug Enforcement Team, PC 47 of the Hanoi Police. Hanoi Customs Department has issued a decision to prosecute a criminal case.

According to the Hanoi Customs Department, in order to improve the effectiveness of combating smuggling and illegal goods transportation across border in 2017, the unit has developed and implemented the plan of anti-smuggling and prevention trade fraud; against drug and precursors trafficking in 2017; focus on key areas such as aviation, express delivery, ICD, railways.

Moreover, strengthen to inspect and control of poor quality food products, fertilizers, petrol, pesticides, veterinary drugs, animal feeds, aquatic feeds and banned substances in animal husbandry, food processing, imported foodstuffs and groceries that made in China, animal and plant products from South Africa, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, electric bicycles.

Besides that, the unit has signed the regulation on inter-agency coordination between the internal organs and some agencies of the city in the provision, information exchange, handling denunciation and information on crime and prosecution proposal in Hanoi city.
