Noi Bai Customs consecutive detection of 2 cases of foreigners hiding metals suspected to be gold

VCN - In just one day, the Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch (Hanoi Customs Department) has consecutively detected 2 cases of foreign visitors hiding gold bars on their bodies, with a total weight of 3kg for each case.

Accordingly, Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch has recently detected a foreign tourist concealing gold bars on his body and luggage upon entering Vietnam.

On October 4th, during the customs procedure process for inbound passengers on flight VN593 from Hong Kong to Noi Bai International Airport, the Entry Luggage Customs Procedures Team (Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch) discovered a male passenger with suspicious signs.

The Entry Luggage Customs Procedures Team and the Customs Enforcement Team of Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch, in coordination with the Investigation Police Department for Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes (Team 6) - Hanoi City Police and Noi Bai International Airport Border Guard Police, proceeded to monitor the passenger's luggage and goods.

Upon physical inspection, the foreign male passenger was found carrying 6 pieces of gold-colored metal, weighing approximately 3kg. The method of concealing the suspected gold was very sophisticated. The gold bars were cut into small pieces and hidden on the person to avoid detection by the authorities.

Immediately afterwards, Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch issued a record and sealed the evidence. At the same time, it coordinated with other specialized units to handle the case according to regulations. Currently, all 6 pieces of gold-colored metal and the subject have been handed over to the Investigation Police Department for Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes (Team 6) - Hanoi City Police for further investigation.

Earlier on the same day, the Entry Luggage Customs Procedures Team (Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch) also discovered a tourist from Hong Kong concealing 3 pieces of gold-colored metal in their private parts and two shoe soles. This tourist admitted that the 3 pieces of gold-colored metal were 9999 gold.
