Hai Phong Customs raises VND44,556 billion in tax revenues

The city’s department said in a report that as of the end of August, customs officials collected tariffs on imports and exports worth about VND44,556 billion. This figure was equal to 77% of the VND57.9 trillion target set by the General Department of Vietnam Customs this year.
The department is in charge of four regions - Hai Phong and the neighbouring provinces of Hai Duong, Hung Yen and Thai Binh.
In Hai Phong alone, the department collected VND38,795 billion worth of tariffs, up 26.11% compared with the previous year. The figure hit 76.4% of the annual target.
According to Customs News, almost all nine customs branches of the department also experienced surges in their revenue.
Thai Binh Customs Branch, Processing/Investment Customs Branch, and Hai Duong Customs Branch collected more than VND1,248 billion, VND6,242 billion, VND1.882, meeting 113,52%, 94,6% and over 94% of the annual targets, respectively.
1St Zone Hai Phong Seaport Customs Branch earned the largest revenue of VND13,884 billion, equivalent to 84.14% of the annual target.
Among nine customs branches, the Export Processing Zones and Industrial Park Customs Branch collected only VND1,252 billion, 54.45% of the annual target.
