Increasing about VND1,700 billion in revenue

As of the end of July, the department’s revenue saw a year-on-year increase of 107.1% to a whopping VND3,227 billion, said the department.

Due to the complex development of Covid-19 pandemic, to achieve the positive results, the department has implemented the dual goals of both disease prevention while ensuring performance, contributing to socio-economic recovery and development in a new normal state under Government Resolution 01 to facilitate customs clearance.

The branch has focused on training for officials in the sector to improve skills, especially contents related to C/O, taxes, price, procedures, post-clearance audits and customs supervision.

It has also updated and instructed new documents and policies for officials. Officials have well complied with regulations, creating trust for firms when carrying out customs procedures.

The branch has promoted the efficiency of the procedure consulting team. To ensure compliance with the law, the branch has arranged highly qualified officials to be on duty at the procedure consulting unit to guide firms and remove difficulties.

It has established a working team to review approved declarations at the Import and Export Cargo Procedure Team to detect and handle violations and prevent revenue loss. At the same time, improve efficiency of post- clearance audit.

The local branch implemented risk assessment for high-risk items, routes and firms and suspicious signs to classify the inspection channel. The branch has discovered many violations and prevented revenue loss.

The rise in revenue is thanks to the adjustment management areas of four border gate customs branches. The branch is assigned to manage Nam Hai Dinh Vu port where has a large volume of import and export goods in Hai Phong.

VND445 billion must be collected

According to Manager of 2nd Zone Hai Phong Seaport Customs Branch Nguyen Thu Hien, although the branch has achieved the sharp increase in revenue, the revenue rate is still lower than the average revenue of the entire Hai Phong Customs Department. It must make great efforts to meet the annual revenue target of VND5,500 billion.

In the final months of the year, the branch must collected VND2,273 billion.

The branch continues to expedite facilitation for imports and exports and coordinate with seaport operators to a transparent environment for the best service at the branches, and deploy schemes on customs supervision in a timely fashion, strengthening customs reform and ensuring management for import and export.

It has worked with 501 firms to develop partnerships. During working with those the branch has promptly grasped difficulties and obstacles to remove or transfer information to relevant units to handle and support business.

The branch continues to focus on maintaining discipline and effectively implements measures to combat revenue loss and collect tax debts.
