Hai Phong Customs processes nearly 250,000 declarations in May

Specifically, in May 2024, the total number of import and export declarations in the entire Hai Phong Customs Department rose 26.55% over the same period in 2023 and 12.14% compared to April 2024 to 247,512.

Of which, the total number of import declarations is 136,093 and the total number of export declarations is 111,419.

Among the nine branches under Hai Phong Customs Department, the Export Processing Zone and Industrial Park Customs Branch has the largest number of 57,603 declarations, while Hai Phong Port Area 1 Border Gate Customs Branch has the least number of 5,707. Declarations.

In May 2024, the number of Green channel declarations across the Department is 64.5%, Yellow channel 32.2%, Red channel 3.3%.

However, at the seaport border gate customs branches (Hai Phong port zone 1 border gate customs branch, Hai Phong port zone 2 border gate customs branch, Hai Phong port zone 3 border gate customs branch and Dinh Vu Port Border Gate Customs Branch), the ratio of Yellow channel and Red channel is still high, accounting 72.3% and 8.7% respectively, green channel accounts for only 19%.

May also recorded positive growth in import-export turnover at the Hai Phong Customs Department with about US$12.23 billion, up 10.03% month-on-month and up 35.2% year-on-year.

Of which, exports increased 8.37% over the previous month and 30.6% over the same period in 2023 to more than US$5.96 billion. Taxable exports alone reached US$40.17 million, down 17.52% over the previous month, but up 3.8% over the same period in 2023.

Imports grew 11.61% over the previous month, and 40% over the same period in 2023 to more than US$6.26 billion. Of which, taxable imports reached more than US$2.52 billion up 18.66% over the previous month and up 53.1% over the same period last year.
