A representative of Viet Phat Import-Export Investment Trading Joint Stock Company said the company's production line operates throughout Tet, so the transportation team only has two days off for Tet (the 30th and the 1st day of Tet). From the 2nd day of Tet, the company started importing raw materials to ensure production. Even though this is Tet’s holiday, Ha Tinh Customs and Cau Treo Customs arrange officers to be on duty during Tet to support businesses in quick customs clearance.
Also according to Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch, from the 2nd day of Tet, businesses have opened declarations. In particular, on the 4th day of Tet, many businesses choose this as a beautiful day to start their operation for the Year of the Dragon. According to the preliminary statistics, in the first days of the Year of the Dragon 2024, Cau Treo Customs handled procedures for more than 10 sets of import declarations of iron ore and dried cassava chips with a turnover of more than US$400,000. Thereby, Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch collected more than VND700 million to the state budget.
Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch said that from January 1 to February 14, the unit processed procedures for more than 1,050 sets of declarations of 167 enterprises with a total import-export turnover of more than US$37.6 million. Accordingly, Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch collected more than VND37 billion up 5% year-on-year and accounting for 6.7% of the assigned target in 2024(VND550 billion).
Also at Vung Ang Port Border Gate Customs Branch, in the first days of Giap Thin Spring 2024, the unit processed procedures for ships docking at the port to load and unload raw materials such as iron ore, coal, scrap and 2two ships to load and unload finished steel products for Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited for export to foreign markets. The company opened declarations for these shipments from the 29th day of the Lunar New Year but the ships just arrived at the port for loading and unloading on the first days of the year.
According to Mr. Le Van Hanh, Deputy Director of Vung Ang Port Border Gate Customs Branch, during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited still maintained their operations, so the unit arranged 50% of officials on duty work to ensure customs clearance for businesses.

The quick customs clearance of new shipments at the beginning of the year is a starting signal for a year of exciting activities of import-export enterprises and brings many prospects for the state budget collection of Ha Tinh Customs Department in 2024.
From the beginning of the year until now, Ha Tinh Customs Department has processed nearly 1,800 sets of declarations, an increase of 44.5% year-on-year with a total import-export turnover of more than US$622 million, an increase of 16.8% year-on-year.
