4 export markets of tens of billions of dollars

VCN - By the end of June 2024, the country has four markets achieving export turnover of US$10 billion or more, according to the General Department of Customs.

The four export markets of tens of billions of dollars are the United States, China, Korea and Japan. Among them, the United States continues to be Vietnam's largest export market with a turnover of US$55.1 billion. Compared to the same period last year, export turnover to this market rose by US$10.7 billion.

China is Vietnam's second largest export market with a turnover of US$27.7 billion, an increase of US$1.6 billion over the same period in 2023.

Ranked third is Korea with a turnover of US$12.2 billion, an increase of US$1.1 billion. With US$11.4 billion, Japan ranked fourth, compared to the same period last year, the turnover in this market slightly increased by about US$300 million.

In addition, exports to a number of other key markets also had impressive growth such as exports to the EU increased by US$3.3 billion; to the ASEAN market rose by US$2 billion; and Hong Kong (China) rose by US$1.8 billion.

Regarding the country's exports in general, updated by the General Department of Customs from the beginning of the year to July 15, the total turnover reached US$207.25 billion, an increase of 15.19% over the same period last year (equivalent US$27.33 billion).

Among them, there are 5 groups of export goods with a turnover of US$10 billion or more, including: computers, electronic products and components; phones of all types and accessories; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; textile; and footwear.
