Exported handicraft products contained illegal wood

Customs forces have discovered many violated timber shipments previously.

Specifically, on 8^th August, Manh Tien Dat Company (office located at Tu Son, Bac Ninh province) made an export Customs declaration at the Customs Branch of Huu Nghi border gate. According to the declaration, the shipment was handicraft items transported by 7 trucks.

However, Customs officers received information about a suspicious export shipment containing cargo that was not declared. Hence, they coordinated with C74 force to inspect the whole shipment.

On inspection, the outside layer in the trucks was handicraft items but the inner layer contain large amounts of timber. By the afternoon of 12^th August, the Customs force completed inspection of 2 trucks and will check the remaining 5 trucks.

According to the Customs Branch Huu Nghi border gate, after completing inspection of the goods, functional forces will coordinate with the agency conducting the assessment to consider grounds for prosecution.
