Discover 75 violated containers via scanning machine in Hai Phong

According to Risk Management Division (Hai Phong Customs Department), from the beginning of the year to 21/9, the fixed scanning machine system has scanned 10,980 containers, detecting 63 violated containers; the mobile scanning machine system has scanned 4,924 containers, detecting 12 violated containers.

According to the leader of the Container Scanning Unit (Risk Management Division, Hai Phong Customs Department), the common violations mainly focus on the wrong type of goods; goods in the prohibited list especially engines and used gearbox; violated goods regarding environment plastic scrap, ...

The total penalty for administrative violation was 372 million vnd, total tax generating after scanning was 487 million vnd.

One noteworthy point regarding the operation of the container scanners at Hai Phong Customs is the relocation of mobile scanners from Green Port to Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port. The reason is the construction of the overpass at Nguyen Binh Khiem Street so it causes difficulties for transporting goods to the Green Port area.

The leader of Risk Management Division said that since the transfer (on 22/5/2017) until now, the mobile scanners system has scanned 2,769 containers.
