On July 6, speaking with Customs Newspaper, Director of Customs Branch of Danang International Airport (Department of Da Nang Customs), Mr. Pham Duy Nhat said the Customs Branch had decided to temporarily rotate two customs officers of Division of immigration procedures and customs supervision to other divisions not directly involved in operating procedures for passengers, while awaiting the investigation of acts of harassment.

Earlier, in the morning of July 5, D.T.Ng (Thua Thien Hue) posted information on social networks about the acts of customs officers causing trouble for passengers about entry procedures at Danang International Airport on July 4.

Pham Duy Nhat said, because the information was posted on social networks, not sent directly to the Customs Branch, therefore the Customs Branch had reviewed the passenger list of July 4 to contact the passengers for more information.

"First, we thank the passenger for promptly informing about illegal style and attitude of customs officers on their duty and more information about the two officers. We also apologize to the passenger if there was any harassment of the passenger ", Pham Duy Nhat said.

As Mr. Pham Duy Nhat said, when he directly exchanged information with the passenger - D.T.Ng (a teacher, nearly 60 years old), the passenger appreciated the urgency and attitude of the Director of Customs Branch. Despite information on social networks, the Director still became directly involved, exchanged information and helped passengers to feel relieved.

For the two customs officers who were accused of causing trouble for passengers, in addition to temporary position rotation, the Customs Branch hasd asked them to write reports. Also, the Customs Branch actively coordinated with relevant authorities at Danang International Airport to review cameras and other sources to verify and clarify.
