VCN- According to a representative of the Import-Export Department, the General Department of Customs has signed an agreement on coordination in collection of state budget with the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

This is the 4th foreign bank and also the 29th bank to sign with the General Department of Customs on coordination in collection of state budget.
During the first pilot, SMBC will help the General Department of Customs on collection of state budget in Ha Noi Customs Department and Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department.
SMBC is a large bank of the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Corporation, a leading financial corporation in Japan and the world. SMBC is one of the first banks in Vietnam, opening representative offices in Ho Chi Minh city on September 12, 1994 and in Ha Noi on December 27, 2004.
As a specialized financial company, SMBC undertakes related services such as banking, lending, investment, securities brokerage, investment funds, currency exchange and credit cards.
By signing the agreement on coordination in collection of state budget with SMBC, the General Department of Customs has strengthened the collection of state budget through commercial banks, especially with foreign banks in order to provide the most convenient and fast Tax service for taxpayers, shorten the time and create more favourable conditions for commercial activities of domestic and foreign enterprises.
Of the 29 banks which signed collaboration agreements with the General Department of Customs there are 4 foreign banks: ANZ, the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU Viet nam), Mizuho Bank and SMBC. SMBC is the third Japanese Bank which has signed coordination in collection of state budget with the General Department of Customs.
